Notes from Tom: This album was a culmination of my life experiences. I've lived a very strange life and through that this music manifested into reality. It's based on the patterns found in Mother Nature as well as the seasons, but it's also a concept album. It starts out with water in early spring on the north branch of the White River in West Michigan while the snow was melting. I recorded it on a rock in the middle of the river. I was recording the sound of the vortices created by the rock in the water. They form on both sides of the rock, one being clockwise and the other being counter clockwise. It turns out that counter clockwise and clockwise vortices created by the rock vary quite a bit in pitch. We ended up using the sounds of the clockwise vortice on the right hand side of the rock. That's one of the reasons why the cover is in a clockwise spiral. Shortly after the sounds of the thawing waters comes the first frogs of spring, they were recorded near my parents farm in Bridgeton Michigan. Song #4-The Days Ways-opens with summer time birds greeting the new day I recorded this clip in June at around 5 a.m. behind my house along the Muskegon River. The albums ends with the sounds of the song birds of summer gathering to fly south for winter-on the album winter is equated with the silence at the end of the album. Listening to it on repeat makes a full circle effect with the winter silence giving way to the thawing waters at the beginning of the album. It's designed to be a circular effect on the album like the seasons of the year.
The album is put together to form a story of a person going through transcendence. It begins with a person on a journey through their life going through many changes in who they are as a person. Realizing they need to center themselves to gain back control of their life, they let go of the egotism of wants and worldly desires. Now on a mission to create a better life and world the person ventures on a quest to find the pieces of themselves that they've been missing. Along the way they encounter some entities that they have to reject from their lives. After this the person realizes they really are on a mission and they must get back to the truth of our origins, get back into communication with the earth and stars and learn the ways of Mother Nature. Through learning the ways of Mother Nature they understand that time waits for nothing and they must work with what is around them and manifest as much positivity for the earth and themselves as possible. Through doing this the realization comes to the individual that selfless love is all there is and all there will ever be. That is the way of Mother Nature. After forgiving themselves of all the ego torment from the past and letting go of all that isn't anymore, they decide to go out into the world and ignite the light of as many souls as possible in a place that has seemed hindered for so long. Rising above the trends of modern society the individual realizes that only a fool is blue. The quest culminates with the individual realizing they need to go out and teach that one literally has to fight to ignite the light of the greatest good for themselves in their life and dream a better reality into the domain in which we all live. Otherwise an individual is subject to the destructive ways of the universe. Now Dream...
